Castrol Star Bandhan 2008 marks the 5th year of the popular loyalty program that allows Castrol Stars
like you to gain a wide range of rewards, based on your purchases through the year.
Q2. How does the Program work?
The Program lets you earn points based on your purchases and allows you to redeem them for rewards
ranging across several categories.
Q3. How are my points calculated?
The points are calculated, based on the following categories:
• Base Points
• Tier Bonus Points
• Advocacy Bonus Points

Q4. Will I be automatically allotted a membership level at the start of the Program?
Yes. You will be allotted a membership level (3-Star, 4-Star or 5-Star) according to the points earned by
you in Castrol Star Bandhan 2007.

Q5. Can my membership level be changed during the Program year?
Yes. Your membership level will be evaluated at the end of each quarter. You will be upgraded to the
next level, or retain your membership status, or be downgraded to the previous level as per the volumes
purchased in that quarter.

Q6. What benefits do I receive by belonging to a higher membership level?
The higher the membership level, the higher your quarterly growth bonus points and other privileges.
Hence, you earn more points and can redeem them for a higher reward.
Q7. How can I choose my rewards?
Based on the points accumulated in your account, you can choose any of the rewards that you are
eligible for. For example, if you have accumulated 7500 points, you can redeem them for rewards
worth 7500 points or less. You also have the freedom to redeem points for multiple rewards, till the
total value of gifts you claim is 7500 points or less.
Q8. Who generates these points for me?
Castrol's billing software generates the points, based on your invoice amount. Bonuses accruing from
your purchases, if any, are added to your base points.
Q9. How do I get to know about the points in my account?
Castrol will send you a Points Statement at the end of every month, with the total points in your
account. You can also call Toll-free on 1-800-22-3626 between 10 am & 7 pm. Alternatively, log
on to the website and check your points status.

Q10. What are the minimum points required for redemption of rewards?
You have to accumulate a minimum of 5000 points to start redeeming them for rewards.
Q11. How many times can I redeem?
You can redeem as often as you prefer, any time during the year, provided you have the points to redeem.
Q12. Can I redeem my points for more than one reward?
Yes, you can. In case you have 9000 points in your account, you can redeem your points for multiple
rewards; say 3000 points for one reward and 6000 points for another reward.
Q13. Can I redeem my points for cash in lieu of my reward?
Castrol Star Bandhan does not permit exchange of rewards or points for cash.
Q14. I have 8000 points in my account. I want to redeem them for a gift which requires 10,000 points. Can I pay the difference in cash?
Castrol Star Bandhan does not offer the facility for you to pay this difference in cash.
Q15. How do I send my Rewards Redemption Card?
Mail the Rewards Redemption Card to your Castrol Distributor or fax it to us on our Toll-free fax
number 1-800-22-2121.
Q16. How do I know the status of my reward?
Once we receive your completed Rewards Redemption Card, the status will be updated on the
website. Your Castrol Star Bandhan dealer code will be your password. You may go online at
www.castrolstarbandhan.com to view the status of your request/gifts whenever you wish.

Q18. Are Tier Bonus Points applicable on a monthly basis?
Yes, at the end of each quarter, your membership level will be evaluated and, depending on the level
(3-Star, 4-Star or 5-Star), you will get Tier Bonus Points for all the months of the quarter.
